Sunday 7th

It rained through the night but this morning the sun is shining.

Up early and put the damp clothes back on the lines and hopefully they will be dry for me when we come home.
Went out to see Mum this morning. She was better than she had been through the week. Took her into Warrawong for a look around and to have her coffee.
Back in the car, she had a sleep as she said she was tired.
Back to The Links and she only has 15 minutes until lunch time. We left her and went to see Wally & Helen but there was no-one home. Came on the Woolworths and got a few things then home for lunch and will remake the beds. It is getting overcast so will write more later when the washing is off the line and the beds are made. It is just 1pm.
Had our lunch and started to do some sewing. Sandy said he would do an hour in the back yard.
He came in about 3 and said he didn't feel well. I told him to have a shower as he had done enough.
All happened in the next 1/4 hour. He was having a heart attack and I didn't realise.
He asked me to take him down to Bulli Hospital but it ws closed. Said he wanted to go to Wollongong Hospital but by the time I got to the traffic lights (about 500 yards down from Bulli Hospital, he wanted to go back home and ring "000".
They arrived and worked with him and then took him to Wollongong Hospital.
Ben (next door) drove me in my car and we followed the ambulance.

This is being written on Friday afternoon. I haven't had a chance to keep this posted but will do so before I go to see him tomorrow in Prince of Wales Hospital in Sydney.

Saturday 6th

Decided to strip all the beds (except ours) and get them ready for when they all come home. Got the washing done and on the line (including some washing on Nerri's line). Got some tidying up done while Sandy went down the road to get the few groceries we need.
It is overcast but, fingers crossed, the washing will dry.
Not a lot doing today so will scrub the shower and then have my shower.
Sandy is going to mow the lawns before it rains. Nerri is calling me to get the washing as it is starting to rain. Wouldn't you know it!!
Got the boy's school clothes on the line in the garage and the rest can go out tomorrow, hopefully.
Not an exciting day but at least we are here.
Andrew left early this morning to go to Sydney. He has a luncheon for work and he will stay in Sydney for the night and come home tomorrow.
Made tea for the 2 of us and watched the 4 Nations League between Australia and New Zealand, and later tonight, the Wallabies play Wales in the Union. As it is on late, we will probably get it again tomorrow.
Into bed and read for a while and will write more tomorrow.

Friday 5th

Simon gave the 2 boys the day off school as him and Lou were taking the 3 boys camping until Monday late. Simon and Lou aren't working until Tuesday next week. The boys are really excited about going away. They are only going down to the Shoalhaven River where they have rented a cabin for the 4 days. Simon has fishing lines for them all and costumes to go swimming. I hope the rain stays away for them. They should have a great time.

Grandad and Nanna are on their own for the 4 days so housework needs to be done, but we'll wait and see what eventuates.

Sandy & me went down to supervise our last Higher School Certificate exam this morning. It was Biology and went for 3 hours. There were only 33 students sitting for it. Next week starts the School Certificate and we have 2 full days and 1 half day. It goes for 2 weeks and then all exams are finished.

Home again and having lunch while I write this report.
As Andrew is on his way home but not for tea, it is just the 2 of us. He didn't get in until 9 but we had had our tea. Watched the cricket then went to bed.

Thursday 4th

It rained through the night again. It is overcast but not too bad. Jack and Ty took Noah to school on the bus this morning. Natalie goes to meet her sister in Hawaii tomorrow. Her sister comes from USA so I would like to be a fly on the wall when they meet. She is only away for a week and Greg's Mum and Dad are coming up to help Greg mind Noah and Kennedy.
Did some ironing this morning until it was time to have a shower and go to get my hair cut at 12.
Hair grows and you can't do a thing with it.
Sandy went in to see his Mum this morning. She was still having a confused day. He stayed long enough as she couldn't be bothered doing anything.
He came home and had his lunch and I came in about an hour later.
Finished off the ironing and waited for the boys to come in from school.
All I seem to write about is getting up, boys going to school, who is where etc.
Simon is working late tonight. He starts at 2.15 and goes until 9.15pm. Needless to say, there is only the 4 of us for tea. The boys are going to make their own pizza and I will make one for Grandad and me. They are quite interested in each making their own. Jack has cabonassi, bacon, 2 cheeses and Ty has pineapple pieces & bacon with small amounts of 2 cheeses.
It is just 4.45 so will away and get our tea ready and Jack & Ty can get theirs ready too.
The pizzas were yummo and Jack & Ty ate a whole one each. They followed this up with ice cream then a cup of tea. Where do they put it all?
Watched some TV then into bed.

Wednesday 3rd

It is overcast again today. I went into town after Sandy had gone to the gym. Went down to The Links to get measurements for Mum's stockings. They come in all sizes so this is necessary!!!!
Went to Hospital Hill Pharmacy and the lady was really nice there. She knew what I was after and then took them back down to Mum. She was having a confused day. Walked her to the dining room and left her to have her lunch.
Came on back to the Financial Adviser. Signed my life away on about 30 pages. Had to get more original documents but went to the Credit Union and they gave them to me. Saved Sandy having to go in tomorrow.
Came on home and Sandy was home before me. He had his lunch and I went down the road to get some things for tea.
Andrew is going to Melbourne today for work. He leaves on the 4pm plane and won't be home until tomorrow on the 5pm plane into Sydney. Just a quick trip.
The boy's came from school and had a lazy afternoon. Nothing doing other than getting tea ready. Simon will be in soon and we can have tea.
We watched some TV then went to bed.

Tuesday 2nd

It rained all night and is still raining now. The boys have gone to school and Simon has gone to meet Lou and have coffee before she starts her work.
I had a Dr's appointment to check up on a spot on my face. Everything if OK and the Dr just froze it. She said it is probably dry skin but wanted to take precautions.
It is so cold again. The weather is crazy. One day is beautiful and hot and the next is raining and cold. Not a bit of wonder there are so many colds about.
The Dr's surgery was packed this morning. Tried to get Mum's stockings but I will drop Sandy at the gym tomorrow and go into town and get them.
Ended up getting the washing done and dried. The day is going so fast.
I watched some TV this afternoon while waiting for the boys to come in from school. Simon is off today but will be at work tomorrow.
Boys in and had afternoon tea. Not a lot doing so will write again tomorrow.

Monday 1st November

Got off to an early start this morning. Natalie and Greg have an early appointment with Kennedy in Sydney and she asked yesterday if Noah could have breakfast with us and catch the bus to school with Jack and Ty. They would drop him over to us about 7.15am. He ended coming across at 7.45 as they had slept in. Poor little Noah was still half asleep. He only had a slice of toast with vegemite and an apple juice, and they was an effort to eat. They all went off to school and I got ready as I was on High School canteen.
Went down about 8.30 and had a great day. I really enjoy doing the canteens. I get to see Hannah with Jack at the High School and Sophie with Ty at the Primary school.
Simon is off work today as it is his Rostered Day Off and again tomorrow. He only works Wednesday and Thursday this week and then he is off for 4 days. Simon and Lou are taking the boys away camping for the 4 days and it will be a surprise for the 3 boys as they don't know anything about this. They are going early Friday morning and coming back late on Monday afternoon.
Got home this afternoon from canteen about 3, just ahead of the bus. It looks like it is going to rain.
Got a few things for tea on the way home as we are only having vegetables and bar-b-que chops. I seem a bit slack this afternoon but it will fill them up.
Andrew rang to say he is still at work and will get something there but will be home later.
Had our tea and watched some TV. Andrew came in about 8 and the boys and me went to bed and left them at it.

Sunday 31st

The last day of the month. It will soon be Christmas. Another year ready to start.
This morning is overcast and we are going into see Mum. Andrew has taken Sophie to Homebush for her swimming carnival. He left this morning about 7 and won't be home until about 8.
We went to see Mum and she wasn't having a very good day. We got the 1000 mile stare. We took her for coffee into Figtree but she wanted the bathroom so we came on back.
We went to the Chemist in Figtree to try and get her some surgical stockings as her varicose veins are really sore and painful and bothering her. We couldn't get them so when we went back to The Links, we told Adel (one of the carers) and she said she would write it in the diary for the EN in the morning. We will wait to find out what we have to do.
Went then to see Wally and Helen. We are having lunch here with them and Le and Lien and also Robyn and Doug. I have given them 2 dates to choose from.
Came on home and rang Simon as today is Halloween. He is coming out later and bringing the 3 boys for Trick or Treat. The street has it from 5 - 8 and you put a poster on your front fence/letterbox if you want children to call. Sandy went and got packets of wrapped lollies to give them. Apparently they had about 100 children last year. This is my 1st time in about 4 years to be here as I am always in Tasmania and Sandy does it on his own. Down the road they have decorated their driveway as a haunted house for the kids. It is magic to watch and they have hung ghosts (using sheets) across the road (on the wires) and the wind blows them and they look so real.
When Simon and Lou came, sometime later we will have pasta as the boys will, no doubt, fill up with lollies. At least they can have pasta and crusty bread later.
It is really hot here now. About 28 degrees with the sun shining.
Will write more later.
Just to finish this blog. Simon, Lou and boys came out about 3.30. They had been to the beach as it was so hot today. They had their showers and are waiting for 5 so they can Trick or Treat.
There were so many people in the street. We must have had about 200 children and they were dressed up wonderfully. As I said before, I hadn't had Halloween for about 4 years so I was really impressed. We ran out of lollies so Simon and Lou drove down the road and got more. After 8 we had our tea and then Lou took Jordon home and we hit the beds. What a good day and Halloween was too.

Saturday 30th

The sun is shining and it is a beautiful day. I was up early this morning to hang the washing out and when it is dry, remake the 2 boys beds. Sandy was up at 5.45 as he couldn't sleep.

Andrew went to get Sophie as she had a surf carnival on at Towradgi.

Simon dropped the boys off and today is Ty's birthday. He is 11 and is excited.

We got him a basketball and money, Simon, Lou and Jordangot him iPod Touch, money from Marilyn and John, Jack got him some Lego (he absolutely loves Lego) and heaps of other things.

They had their breakfast and Grandad went in to watch Sophie. I stayed behind and tidied up and vacuumed through. I have to make some pasta sauce as I had defrosted some mince yesterday and don't want it to go off.

Grandad is home and said that Sophie didn't do as well as expected. He said Andrew was a bit disappointed. Andrew left Sophie at the carnival as he had to take Hannah to violin lesson and then he will go back for Sophie when she is finished.

This afternoon we are going to Bulli Primary School fete. Grandma and Auntie Steph & kids are coming down to take Jack and Ty to the fete. At least it is not raining and the sun is shining and a beautiful day is in the making.

Just about to get lunch as it is 12 noon and I have made the pasta sauce and will let it cook for 2 hours.

Andrew arrived home with Hannah and Sophie right on lunch time. They came to see Ty for his birthday. Wouldn't have any lunch as they were on their way to the fete. Andrew was on the chocolate wheel. They had received some fabulous donations for the wheel. About 42 spins, $2 a go, and about 3 prizes each time. Then they have 8 @ $5 each which are better than the $2, if possible.

Grandma and Steph and her 3 children came and got the boys. We went down also and spent a bit of money. They were starting to get a good roll up. Thank goodness the rain decided to stay away. We came on home about 3.30 and left them at it.

Grandma said she will have the boys home in time for going with their Dad to Lou's.

Last night we decided to go to Japan. We rang Le and Lien (who we met on our last trip of China)and said yes. Wally & Helen are going also. We leave on 9 April 2011. This will go round quick, again.

Will inform you about our itinerary later.

After Simon had taken the boys to Lou's, we had a prawn salad for our tea and thoroughly enjoyed it. We watched Australia play New Zealand in the Union in Hong Kong and Australia had a win. Broke the drought of New Zealand winning.

Went to bed after that and read for a while.

Friday 29th

It is still overcast today but not to worry as I am on Public School canteen today. Sandy is going to a Financial Planning seminar at Kembla Grange and will leave about 8.30. Helen, Wally and Ando are going too. It goes from 9 until 3 and they give them a hot lunch and all the bit and pieces that go in between.
I left at 8.30 to go to canteen. There was only Nicole and me and oh! boy, were we busy. As their fete is on tomorrow from 2 - 8, every child that orders a lunch gets a free ticket to explore the haunted house. As guess what, every child just about ordered today.
I made 95 pikelets, we had both ovens going heating up food and in the end we had to get help. There were ladies there getting ready for the fete but we had to ask them to help. By the end of the lunch, we were exhausted. On counting up the money, we had the biggest canteen, so far this year. And our feet knew we had worked really hard.
Came on to the High School as I had ordered cooked prawns when I worked there on Tuesday. I picked them up and came on home.
Only beat the boys home by about 1/2 hour. Sandy got home about 4 and we just relaxed.
Simon was finishing work at 5.45 and I had to have the boys showered and ready for when he came in. They were going to Lou's again for tea. Just the 2 of us as Andrew was going to be late and then going out. Had the prawns with a salad and Sandy just had toast with cold meat as he had a hot lunch at the seminar.
The prawns were to die for. Sandy peeled them and deveined them for me.
Watched some TV and then into bed as Simon is dropped the boys off in the morning about 7.30 as he goes to work and Lou is work tomorrow also. He will pick them up on his way home.

Thursday 28th

It is overcast this morning and has rained through the night. Simon has gone to work and Jack & Ty off to school. I am going to get my nails done and come home to get Sandy to go to Sandra and Jeff's for lunch. Will write more when we come home.
We had the most delightful lunch. They had slow cooked lamb on a Webber bar-b-que and it was absolutely scrumptious. Had various salads with it and also prune cake with caramel sauce. Yummo.
We had quite a few laughs looking at old photos. Sandra is doing a Family Tree of Dad's side of the family. Do you open a can of worms when you start!!! Some of the things that we have found out today, we didn't know existed.
She had old photos of us all taken when we were babies or very young. Some I had even forgotten about. Dad, Mum, Nan, Dad's Mum and Dad, Sandra, me and all our cousins. We are all there. I am going to have a day with Sandra soon to have a good look at them.
Just waiting for the boys to come in from school. It is just 3.20 so they shouldn't be too far away.
Will write more later.
The boy's are in and afternoon tea time. They had a good day at school. Jack took his material as he is making a bean bag. Simon got him some denim and this is what he is going to make it out of. It takes quite alot of material, about 5m. Probably cost more to make than to buy one. Anyway, it is experience for him and marks go towards his end of year exams.
Simon came in from work and the boys were ready to go to Lou's for tea. Just Andrew, Sandy and me for tea.
We had tea and I went to bed and left them watching TV.

Wednesday 27th

Simon left early this morning as he had a meeting at 8.30 and takes about 3/4 hour to drive to Miranda. Jack rode his bike and Ty got the bus.
I am picking Ty and his mate up at 12.30 as they have to be at the High School to see what goes on when they go to High School. Even though they don't go until 2012, for the next 7 Wednesdays they will go to a subject that they will do and see how different High School is to Public School. They only go from 1 to 2.30 and they have to arrange their own transport to and from. I will take them as Ty's mate, Cameron, has a working Mum and she can't take him. Ty said Cameron's Mum is a hairdresser.
Sandy went to the gym and I did some housework. Today is Jeff's birthday so when I get Ty and Jack gets home, we will go and see him. We won't stay too late as I have to get home and get our tea.
I will write more this afternoon.
Back again. Ty thoroughly enjoyed going to High School for the 1-1/2 hours. Today he did HSIE. They showed him how this subject is done etc. I picked him up at 2.30 and took Cameron back to school to get his bus to his home. Bought Ty home and Andrew came in the door. He was going to work from home.
He then got a phone call that Diane had had a car accident. She was on her way to take Hannah to the Orthodontist when a guy went through a red light just as she was about to make a right hand turn into a street. They were not hurt but Hannah had some shock but the car is written off. At first they thought Hannah might have to go to hospital but she was OK. Sandy went down to get Sophie from school as she was to go board training with her Dad and if he wasn't there, she wouldn't know what was going on. Doesn't rain but it pours. Needless to say we didn't get to see Jeff for his birthday but will go tomorrow.
Jeff rang later to see how Hannah was and invited us for lunch tomorrow as my cousin Anne and her husband Brian (who are travelling nomads also) would be there. Said yes we would come and will take something for lunch.
Rang Hannah to see how she was after Andrew had dropped them home. Diane said that Hannah was OK but in shock and that she had a little bit of whiplash. Andrew then took the other car up to her as he has a Company car for getting to and from work.
Andrew came back and cooked a bar-b-que for us for tea and then he went and played 7 aside soccer. He had his tea when he came home but I went to bed just after the boys.

Tuesday 26th

The boys have gone to school and I am off to do High School canteen. I really enjoy doing this as the High School is different from the Public School, in regards to everything. They have so much to choose from at the High School. I am getting used to what they want where as before, if they asked for anything, I had to ask is it a drink, ice block, lollies etc. I have never seen so much food. I got home from canteen just in front of the boys. I only beat them home by 1/2 hour.

I rang Marilyn & John as she had rang earlier. They were waiting for their plane to go to Singapore and then onto Nepal. She sounded relieved that they had got there and were finally on their way. I hope to see them when they come back. According to John's itinerary, they will be back in Sydney on 11th November and hope to come here for a few days. That way they can catch up with Mum and Uncle Archie.

Simon came in about 3.30 and said they were going to Lou's for tea. That left only 3 for tea. I rang Andrew to see if he was coming home for tea and he said he was just leaving Uni and he would be home.

Simon got the boys organised and left for Lou's. Andrew came in about 6.30 and said he was not having tea and wouldn't be home. Bit peeved as we had waited for him to have our tea and meat had defrosted for the bar-b-que. Anyway, what can you do with family!!!

Had tea and I went to bed as there was nothing on TV and I had 2 recipe books that I hadn't finished. I never heard the boys come home but Sandy was still up.

Monday, October 25, 2010

Monday 25th

It rained again through the night but doesn't look too bad this morning. Sandy is off to his gym and I am going to tidy up and get the ironing done. Boy, does it mount up. Simon if off today and tomorrow so he was going to meet Lou before work for coffee and will be home later. Andrew has gone to work after taking the 2 girls swimming.

I had a phone call from one of the ladies who was doing High School canteen tomorrow asking if I could fill in for her as she was rostered to do supervision of the Higher School Certificate. Of course I said yes. Donna was her name and she asked if I could be there for 8.30. No problems.

I sent a text to Hannah that I would be there tomorrow and I will tell Jack when he gets home from school. Needless to say I had to finish the ironing.

I realised it was 12.45 and the old boy hadn't come home. I rang him on the mobile to find out where he was. He had been to the gym and then went to see his Mum. John was there as he had a Case Conference for Uncle Archie at 11.30am. Sandy ended up bringing him to town so he could get more money for their holidays.

Sandy came on home, had his lunch and then went to Thirroul Library (and still there as I write this) to change his books, so guess what he will be doing tomorrow while I am on canteen????

Will write more later as I am now off to have a shower as it is 2.20 and the boys will be home soon from school.

Sandy said that I made a mistake in the name of the theatre and hotel where I told you we saw the show and stayed. It should have been Theatre Royal and Capital Square Hotel. Probably doesn't mean all that much to you but put it right.

The boys came in from school and had their afternoon tea. Simon amused them for the afternoon and I think they appreciate having their Dad there for them, and not just for after tea etc.

After tea we watched some TV then the boys went to bed and I wasn't far behind them.

Sunday, October 24, 2010

Sunday 24th

It rained through the night. The thunder started late yesterday afternoon and I am not too keen on this. Closed the blinds so I couldn't see what was going on.

Up and had breakfast and as Andrew had to pick up Sophie at 8, even though it was raining, (and most Nippers had their 1st day cancelled), Sandon Point was still on.

We went out to see Mum and didn't take her for coffee, due to the rain, so bought coffee to her and then took her down the 2nd floor to see Laura (her friend from before). Laura was good today and Mum had a good time with her. Only stayed about 1/4 hour as Laura was still in her pyjamas and they were going to get her dressed.

Took Mum back to her room and then came on home as I have things to do and need to catch up on my blog.

Will write more later.

Had our tea after Simon & the boys came home. They had been to Grandma's for the weekend and they celebrated Ty's 11th birthday. He got spoilt (like normal) and they had a terrific time.

Saturday 23rd

We got up and had our breakfast in the hotel. It was part of the package. They had a buffet style breakfast and you could come and go back as many times as you wanted. I think we got there at a good time as the crowd started to come in. They only do a breakfast as they don't have a restaurant, as such and you have to stay there to have your breakfast.
We asked if we could leave our bag at Reception while we walked around Sydney again. They charge $2 per bag to leave there. The hotel is just near Central Station so it was handy for us for when we are going home.
We got a train down to Circular Quay (we can use train/ferry/bus for $2.50 Senior Citizen all day) and looked to see what time we could go over to Manly. The ferry didn't leave for another 1/2 hour so we walked around and saw the Seaview Princess at the overseas terminal. It is much bigger than the one we went one around the Greek Islands.
Went to The Rocks markets. They are great and a bit more up market the Paddy's. A lot of their products are home made and quite exquisite.
Walked back to the ferry and went over to Manly. I love Manly. Walked along the Corso and being a Saturday, there were people everywhere. We ended up finding a restaurant where we had our lunch. Sandy had battered fish and I had marinated Angus ribs. They were absolutely beautiful and just fell off the bone.
Walked back to the ferry and on the way I found a Earth Ware shop which was closing down. Seems all the places I find are closing down. Ended up with a t'shirt and a white 'large' blouse.
Back to the ferry and back to Sydney. We had worked out the time the train left Central to take us back home. 2.30 from Central & into Bulli @ 4.
Got back to Central and had about 1/2 hour until train left. Sandy went back to the hotel to get our bag and I waited at the station.
When he came back we had about 5 minutes to get to platform 25. We flew down the stairs (of which there was about 6 flights) and the train was in the station. We jumped on and the old boy was wet with perspiration from rushing to get back. Got our breaths and the train took off.
Sandy said how dirty the train was and then the driver announced where we were going and I thought "Oops, we are on the wrong train".
This train was going to Cronulla and not our way. We looked at each other and guess who was at fault. Obviously not him so he blamed me. He said this would make good reading. As you know, when things go wrong, it is always my fault.
We worked out we could get off at Hurstville or Sutherland. As it started to rain, we though Hurstville would be better as it is underground.
By the time we got to Hurstville the rain had stopped, so Sandy decided to go onto Sutherland station. As the train stopped (for 15 seconds), he then decided to get out and wait for our "proper" train (which was about 10 minutes behind). I just follow.
We ended up getting our train back to Thirroul and we changed at Thirroul and got another train to Bulli. Got home exhausted but had a good weekend.
Ended up doing a load of washing and as Andrew had done a load and was on the line, there wasn't as much as I thought.
There was only the 2 of us for tea so had a nibble. We had already had a big lunch so wasn't all that hungry.
Watched some TV then I fell into bed and the old boy wasn't far behind.

Friday 22nd

We got the boys off to school, Simon to work, Andrew to work and we got ready to go to Sydney.

I had given Sandy 2 tickets to see The Jersey Boys tonight at the 8pm session for his birthday. They do the story of Frankie Valli. We are going to stay in Sydney for the night.

We got the 9.20 train and changed at Thirroul for the 9.27. We got to Sydney about 10.45 and went to our hotel near Darling Harbour. It was called The Capitol Hotel. The room was ready so we put our bag in and explored more of Sydney.
The room was very basic with a bed and on-suite. The floor boards were creaky but it was clean and we only wanted to put our heads down for the night. We went down to Paddy's Markets and had a look around.
There were lots of people there (mainly Asians) getting ready for the weekend, I think. They have the most beautiful fruit and vegetables and some we don't even know what they are. They cater alot for the Asian cooking more than for the Westerners.
We had our lunch (an all day breakfast) which was really yummy.
We left there and went up the town and had a good look around. Bought a bottle of wine and a few things for when we go home. The Queen Victoia Basement was having a 'closing down sale' and you just couldn't go past without looking in. I love Sydney and just seeing all the walks of life going past. It is amazing.
We came back to a pub that we have been to before and had a drink. It was just underneath our hotel. It is a Irish pub so we thought we would come back here for out tea.
Went back and had a rest then went for more walking.
Back to the room and had a shower and then off to tea. Sandy had Irish sausages, mash and gravy and I had a chicken dish with salad. It wasn't too bad either.
Walked up to the Capitol Theatre which only took about 25 minutes. It was such a lovely afternoon. Got to the theatre and the crowd was starting to gather.
We had really good seats. In the middle of the row and about 9 rows from the front.
What a show!! It was amazing and the guy who played Frankie Valli was just unreal. The 4 seasons were brilliant. In fact, the whole cast was awesome. I think we could have sat through another 3 hours of singing.
Walked back to our hotel and needless to say neither of us were tired. Ended up turning the light off about 12.45am. A good day was had by both of us.

Thursday 21st

Today is the old boy's birthday. He has finally reached 66 but God knows how. No guarantee there will be 67 but if there is, he needs to celebrate.
Anyway, the boys have gone to school and Sandy and I have to be at the High School to supervise the HSC by 8.15. We got home again about 1 and had our lunch then I went down the road to get some things.
My sister and Jeff came up to see Sandy for his birthday about 4 and left about 5.30. They wouldn't stay for tea as they had chicken being thawed in the fridge for their tea.
As Simon is working late tonight (not yesterday as I said), we will have our tea as only Andrew will be home for tea. Having pasta and crusty bread as it is simple and quick.
Nothing much doing today so I will leave it as it is and go again when we get back from Sydney on Saturday (sometime).

Wednesday, October 20, 2010

Wednesday 20th

The sun is shining brightly and you can imagine what I am going to do. That's right, wash (again).
Sandy went to the Motor Car Show with Wally and Doug. He was meeting them on the 9.17 train at Thirroul. Another day on my own!!!!
Ended up doing the 3 bedrooms and the bathroom. Cleaned the shower while I was in it and then went to Wally's to go our eggs, put petrol in the car, did the groceries, went to the chemist and came on home. It is just 1.30.
I will do some sewing while I wait for the boys to come in. Jack rode his bike today as he has sport. He should be home about 2.45. Ty took Noah this morning on the bus. Simon is off today so he was going to meet Lou before she tarted work & have coffee. He said maybe him and the boys are having tea with her and Jordon. He will let me know. Andrew rang me yesterday to say he wouldn't be home for tea and will be home later in the night. Maybe it will be only the 2 of us.
At the moment I am sewing a cushion to put on our bed. It is a very pale pink and the hardanger stitches are in a shade darker pink. I enjoy sewing as I find it relaxing and you have to concentrate, needless to say there isn't time to think of other things.
I don't know what time the old boy will be in but shouldn't be too late. I hope they have a good day . If not, it is their own fault. I think it does them good to have a day with just males. Hopefully he might get some ideas about what type of car he would like to buy next. Yesterday after he had seen his Mum, he stopped and had a look at a white Audi. I would love one of these cars. Not much change to be had from about $60,000. The Holden SV6 we have is only about 3 years old but the old boy has trouble reverse parking it. He says it is too wide for him.
Will write more later after sewing.
The boys are in from school. Time to get afternoon tea. Ty had a good day with his assignment. He said his presentation (verbally) went really well.
Simon is working late tonight so just Andrew, the 2 boys and us for tea.

Tuesday 18th

Sandy got up just after Simon. Simon had trouble waking Jack this morning. He was really tired. We had breakfast and Simon went off to work. Andrew had taken Hannah for a swim as Sophie was on the school camp the same as Ty.

The camp was for 5th and 6th class called "A Seniors Camp".

Sandy went to his gym as he hadn't been the last Friday (supervising) or yesterday (supervising) and tomorrow he is going to the Motor Car Show with Wally and Doug so they won't be there tomorrow either. We have supervision on Thursday from 9.25 to 12 and Friday we are going to Sydney to see The Jersey Boys and won't be home until Saturday some time late.

Needless to say the gym will have to take 2nd spot for a couple of weeks until the HSC is finished. Then we have the School Certificate supervision but only for 2 weeks. We don't have any supervision for the HSC the following week and then the next Friday (5th Nov) from 9.25 to 12.30. That will be all for the HSC.

The School Certificate, we have from 9.25 to 11.30 & 12.50 to 3 on the 8th, same on the 9th and 9.25 - 12.30 on the 10th. Then we will be back to 'normal', whatever that means.

After Sandy had gone to the gym this morning, he said he would go to see his Mum also, I HAD to do some housework. The house is untidy and needed a good dusting. Only did the TV room, kitchen, dining room and 2 hallways today. That took me until nearly 12.30. The old boy came in and I cleaned out the fridge and got us some lunch.

I had a hot shower to get the frozen fingers working as cleaning out the freezer (and discarding food that had been there for ages and past it's 'use by' date), my hands were like blocks of ice.

It stopped raining this morning so I washed our sheets and towels and got them on the line. Hopefully they will be dry enough by this afternoon otherwise I will put them back out tomorrow.

I only have the 3 bedrooms to vacuum and dust tomorrow along with cleaning the bathroom and Andrew's room downstairs.

I will write more later when "something" happens to tell you about.

As you can imagine, nothing has happened to tell you news.

Jack came home on the bus with Ty. Poor little fellow had a heavy camp bag to carry. I went & met him up the road. Ended up putting all his clothes in the laundry and then washed them. He had a good time at the camp, he said.

Heath (back door neighbour's son) came over after tea to see us. He is such a lovely boy and now has his own son, Farron. He is a baby to die for. He is so good. Simon and his 2 boys then went over there and they were not back when I went to bed.

Monday 17th October 2010

We got up early this morning as we had to be at Bulli High School for supervision of the Higher School Certificate. We had to be there by 8.15am.
Jack and Ty got their school bus at 8 so we left at the same time. Poor Ty had a heavy bag as he was going to school camp today until tomorrow. They are going to Mowbray Park (near Picton). He could hardly lift it but "big brother Jack" carried it to the bus for him. The bus driver asked him where he was going and Jack said he was very excited and told the driver where he was going.
John and Marilyn were still with us but they were catching the 12.17 train to Sydney as they were going to Mudgee. They are staying with he sister Anne and Alan until Friday. Then they are going to their friends at Spencer (on the Central Coast) until Sunday. After lunch they will come on down to us until time for fly to Singapore on Tuesday night. Sandy gave John the ute and said he could leave it at Thirroul station and this would save them getting a taxi.
Marilyn went to Southern Pathology to make sure they could do her blood etc for her knee replacement operation when they come back from Nepal.
We finished the supervision and then went out to Thirroul to get the ute.
We got home and had lunch then I went down the road to get some things for tea.
Jack came home in the bus on his own and after afternoon tea started on his assignment. I said I will get him some cardboard tomorrow for him.
Simon came in from work and Andrew wasn't far behind him.
We had our tea, and thought I would ring Ann. It would have been Hugh's birthday today. Watched some TV, then after supper Jack went to bed. Jack was tired and so was I.
It would have been Hugh's birthday today. I will try to ring Ann after tea.
